Remove the window screen frame from the window opening.

Tip: Carefully lift the frame to avoid bending the aluminum edges.

Remove the old spline by using a spline tool or screwdriver to pull the rubber cord out of the groove.

Tip: Start at a corner for easier removal.

Remove the old damaged screen mesh from the frame.

Tip: Keep the frame clean of any debris or old rubber bits.

Lay the frame flat on a level surface and place the new screen mesh over it.

Tip: Ensure the mesh extends slightly beyond the edges of the frame.

Press the mesh into the groove and use the spline tool to push the new spline firmly into the channel.

Tip: Avoid pulling the mesh too tight, as it may bow the frame.

Repeat the spline installation for all four sides of the frame.

Tip: Keep consistent pressure to ensure the screen remains flat.

Trim the excess screen mesh using a utility knife or scissors.

Tip: Cut slightly outside the groove and then trim flush for a clean finish.

Inspect the screen for any gaps or loose areas and press them in if necessary.

Tip: Ensure the spline is fully seated in the groove all the way around.

Reinstall the repaired screen frame back into the window opening.
