Tools Needed

Flats — For seed starting

Coldframe — For hardening off plants

Salsify Seed — White Plume or Golden Self-blanching variety(As needed)

Fine loam — For potting flats(As needed)

Sand or fine soil — For covering seeds(As needed)

Sow seeds thickly in flats filled with fine loam.

Tip: Sift a thin layer of sand or fine soil over the seeds and firm well.

Keep flats in a moderately warm place, watering as needed until plants appear.

Tip: If using multiple flats, they may be stacked on top of one another.

Gradually introduce flats to light at the first sign of plant growth.

Transplant seedlings into other flats when they reach 1.5 to 2 inches in height.
